Ring Racer - Steam Release

November 1st, 2023

Hi all!

"Ring Racer" will release on November the 3rd on Steam with support for Windows, MacOS and SteamDeck (via Proton).
It features a revamped graphics engine with real HDR rendering and modern post processing.
Furthermore there's now a practise mode (notime limit and no damage, but also no level progress) and you can enable a "ghost mode" that records your best time. This is a usefull feature to master the tracks and avoid mistakes.

This version will also be released to Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks.

Update 1.6.0.0

Dezember 22nd, 2013
Update 1.6.0.0

The update to 1.6.0.0 brings all platforms to feature parity except of the cloud backup/sharing system which is still Windows Phone 7/8 exclusive

Added Features:
-4 different animals (only in FULL/TRIAL version not in LITE version). More will follow early next year.
-Local Backup/Restore system. Make multiple backups of your worlds to your local filesystem and restore them when your world gets lost or you want to go back in time. It can also be used to extend your world slot count.

Fixes:
-fixed crash on Windows Phone 8 due to missing extended mem flag.
-fixed crashes on Android/Amazon when game gets inactive and resuming.
-better handling of suspend actions on all platforms -> your worlds shouldn't get lost anymore when game becomes inactive.

Discovery for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch released

Juli 26th, 2013

Discovery is now or soon available on Apple's App Store! YEAH!!

This version already contains the new control method. You'll need at least a device that has iOS 5.0 installed, so any updated iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod touch 3G should do it.

I have chosen the lowest price tier for the initial release so everyone interested should get it quickly before I adapt the price to match the other stores.

You can support Discovery by spreading out the word about it to everyone you know.

Thanks!

New Discovery/Discovery+ Trailer

April 22nd, 2013

Since the old trailer has been out there for nearly one year, I have decided to put together a new trailer featuring 2 worlds from Pablo and Iain to show of what can be done with the current version of Discovery. There are a lot of interesting worlds in the world sharing system... damn, I have to provide a place where people can show and explain their creations in more detail. But for now, please enjoy the new trailer!

Windows Phone 7 now supports 32bit color

Good news for everyone having Aurora on WP7. WP7 now supports 32bit rendering and thus we can finally finish the next version of Aurora supporting the glow feature. Stay tuned!

Aurora - future updates

Juni 24th, 2011

Update1: (06/28/11) Full and Lite version 1.3 are available at the Marketplace.

Update1: (06/27/11) The Full version has passed certification and will be available in a few hours.

The Full and Lite version updates that contain the new high-resolution engine have been submitted for certification. They will approx. be available at the Marketplace on monday.

As already mentioned in a previous post, the glow feature is already implemented and will be submitted when Mango update for Windows Phone 7 arrives. This will be the next update for the Aurora versions. So expect it around august/september.

Release Aurora Lite

Juni 21st, 2011

Last Saturday, we have released the lite version of Aurora. Aurora Lite is fully functional except of saving being restricted. This restriction will be removed with the next update such that you'll be able to save your images in 640x360 which is a little lower than the original 800x480 available in the full.

For compensation the full version of Aurora will get the high-resolution update which will allow to save images in 1600x960 instead of the default 800x480.

The update will be submitted for certification tomorrow.

More Colors and next features

Juni 17th, 2011
More Colors and next features

The first real update to Aurora enables the user to choose between 24 colors instead of the initial 3. Furthermore we added a new help screen that is shown each time the application starts.

The next update will bring "high-quality, high-resolution rendering" which should dramatically enhance quality of saved images.

Unfortunately the "glow" update has to be delayed until Windows Phone 7  gets the "Mango" update which hopefully brings 32 bit rendering instead of the current 16 bit one. Although the "glow" feature is already implemented, we're not satisfied with the results on real devices. There is a small teaser image attached that has been rendered with the desktop version of Aurora (which supports 32bit).
